orange sunset EOTD

Hey everybody!  Sorry, been MIA, but at least I've been taking pictures!

I came up with this neutral look with a pop of bright orange.  It's basically a look using light browns, champagnes, and a pop of orange.

NOTE: it's much brighter in person.  For some reason, my camera isn't picking up on its vibrancy.  Any suggestions on fixing the settings?  I'm not using flash...

Product Breakdown:

MAC Rubenesque paint pot (all over lid)
MAC Acid Orange pigment [pro color] (inner 3/4 of lid)
MAC Romp e/s (outer 1/4 of lid)
MAC Espresso e/s (crease)
MAC Patina (above crease)
NYX Sahara (highlight)
L'Oreal Carbon Black Lineur Intense Liquid Liner
NYX Purple e/l lower lash line
some random mascara

btw, can you tell that I didn't curl my lashes?

toodles. xoxo.

HAUL n EOTD: flourishing meets gorgeous gold

I've been shopping up a storm lately!  My ever shrinking wallet isn't very happy with me. :(( Note to self: must STOP shopping!  Here are some of my recent (meaning within the last week) purchases:

Eek.. Yes, I've been bad...

MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation in NC25
MAC Select Moisturecover Corrector in NW25

Prior to this, I've never owned any face makeup (aside from blush and bronzer, but I'll save that for a whole other post) because of the common misconception that foundations are heavy, messy, and cakey.  Also, I've taken a liking to my minimalist approach to everyday makeup.

Because of the reasons mentioned, the MUA  recommended the Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation and promised easy application, with medium coverage.  Perfect.  I lightly applied the foundation powder with my trusty MAC187 brush, and almost immediately, I noticed that my skin looked smoother.  As I applied more with a heavier hand, I could've sworn I heard the angels sing to me from above.  My light freckles disappeared, blemishes were non-existent, and my skin looks airbrushed.  :D  The process itself was quick and pain-free.  And the best part?  I shopped in 90 degree weather the whole day, and I did not to touch up.  Not even once.  I would definitely recommend this foundation to ladies that are on a constant time crunch, likes buildable coverage, and are on the go.

I'm also thoroughly impressed with the Moisturecover corrector.  I've been told by the MUA that this corrector is for people with dry skin and is seeking medium coverage.  Shrug.  I applied the product to blemishes with my MAC217 brush (I know.. weird, right?), buffed it out, and admired myself :D

My verdict:  This foundation and corrector combo is perfect together!

Ahh.. yes, MAC eyeshadows are definitely my guilty pleasure.

Hi! :)  Today, I decided to do a neutral, bronzy look with a pop of color on my lower lashline.  I rarely use much makeup on a regular basis, just some eyeliner, concealer, and bronzer.  But since I'm free today, I've decided to put some effort into my look. Btw, I've taken these pics using the camera on my MacBook, and the quality isn't the greatest.  It's much more vibrant in person. Enjoy!
